Cathy Is An Excellent Clinician Who Has Truly Worked Miracles In Treating Clients That Other Therapists Would Consider Untreatable

Dr. James Trahan

Hi, I’m Cathy Harris
Many psychedelic practitioners feel deeply called to help others move beyond survival and truly thrive — yet often feel alone, unsure how to navigate trauma, power dynamics, or high-control influences.
I understand this deeply. I grew up in a family shaped by alcoholism and rage, and at 17, I was drawn to a high-control religious group, searching for belonging. This path kept me from my own voice for decades. As a single parent to a child on the autism spectrum, I eventually chose freedom — leaving the group and my community behind.
My healing journey led me to train in an inpatient trauma program under Dr. Colin Ross, and for over 25 years, I’ve dedicated my life to trauma-informed therapy and education. When I stepped into psychedelic work, I saw many compassionate practitioners struggling to manage trauma responses and avoid power imbalances.
Today, I help practitioners serve with excellence — practicing fearlessly, yet not recklessly. I support you to become confident, trauma-informed, and deeply ethical, so you can guide clients beyond survival into lives they consciously choose.
You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s build a practice that reflects your highest integrity and empowers true healing.
Walk the Ethical Path of Psychedelic Healing
Empower your psychedelic practice by becoming a trauma-informed thinker.
Step into your sacred calling as a trauma-informed psychedelic guide.
Many facilitators walk into ceremonial spaces unprepared for the shadows that arise, risking harm to the very souls they long to serve. You do not intend this for your own practice; how can you avoid unintentional harm and build a shining reputation in the field?
The 12-month Trauma-Informed Practitioner Training, The Inner Compass, is a sanctuary — a weaving of deep trauma wisdom, sacred ethics, and spiritual embodiment. 12 week, abbreviated Beta program starts September 5, 2025.
Introducing the 2nd phase of your training!

The Inner Compass: A Year of Trauma-Informed Psychedelic Practice
Safely. Confidently. Ethically.
You didn’t come to this work to play guru.
You came because you heard the call — the call to hold space for real transformation.
But here’s the truth:
Psychedelics don’t automatically heal.
In the wrong conditions, they can re-traumatize, disorient, or open doors with no one to guide the way back.
Childhood trauma doesn't vanish with a single dose.
Most of the people you sit with — whether they speak it or not — carry deep histories of:
Emotional neglect
Bullying, violence, or abuse
Attachment wounds
Developmental trauma
Systemic and inter-generational harm
If your clients aren’t integrating…
If old patterns keep resurfacing...
If you’re wondering how to meet what arises without doing harm...
This training is for you.
A New Paradigm in Psychedelic Practice
For those who hold space for others' deepest healing... who know that medicine is only one piece of the path.
This isn’t just a certification.
It’s a framework — rooted in neuroscience, trauma psychology, and ethical integrity — designed for real-world psychedelic practitioners like you.
In this program, you’ll learn:
How to identify trauma responses (like freeze, collapse, emotional flashbacks)
What dissociation looks like and how to bring someone back gently
How to work with shame, grief, and attachment wounds in expanded states
Clear boundaries and consent protocols in altered consciousness
How to avoid cult dynamics, power games, and spiritual bypass
You’ll leave not just feeling more prepared — but more embodied, ethical, and trusted by those you serve.
